(Disneyland, 1955) A rare first issue of The Disneyland News from the Park's opening in July of 1955. This periodical was published within Disneyland and helmed by its newly appointed Editor-in-Chief, Marty Sklar. This premiere issue largely covers the planning and construction of Disneyland and features advertisements from vendors who helped make the Park's opening possible. These incredible early newspapers not only served to offer Disneyland's guests the latest information on the park and its features, but it also heavily supported the theme of Main Street by being a functioning small town. Measuring 11.5” x 16”, the twenty-four page newspaper is in good condition with discoloration from age, pinholes, and edge wear from use.
