The Letters of Wise and Great Men, those especially concerned in the Publick Administration of Affairs, have been the Delight and Entertainment of the politest and best Judges in all Ages. By the Lights we receive from them, we arrive not only at an exact Knowledge of Events, but may view them in their most secret and reserved Causes from the Preface. The volumes include correspondence from Sir Henry Neville (1564-1615) England's ambassador to France from 1599 to1600. Neville had been imprisoned in the Tower of London in 1601 for his involvement in the Essex Rebellion and has in recent years emerged as a possible alternative authorship candidate for the works of William Shakespeare.: Sir Henry Neville was Shakespeare - The Evidence. Kimbolton Castle is a country house in Kimbolton, Huntingdonshire, England. It was the final home of King Henry VIII's first wife, Catherine of Aragon. Originally a medieval castle but converted into a stately palace, it was the family seat of the Earls and Dukes of Manchester from 1615 until 1950.

Considerable outer wear overall to the three volumes; boards loose and or going; interior pages heavily foxed but are generally clean.
