EDITH HEAD
Original early sketch for an outfit worn by Kim Novak in Vertigo. Design for Paramount Pictures, circa 1958. Pencil and charcoal on sketchbook paper. Signed "Edith Head" in charcoal, with various charcoal notations, including "#8 int", "long hair?", "pull waist", etc. The sheet measures 17 7/8 x 12 inches (45.4 x 30.5 cm). Unframed. Uneven top edge with remnants of spiral binding, short tear to top edge.
A fine sketch for Kim Novak in Hitchcock's masterpiece. The sketch depicts an early version of the purple outfit worn by Novak as Judy Barton, when she and Jimmy Stewart go to Ernie's restaurant near the end of film.
