Description
Winnie-The-Pooh. London: Methuen, 1926. First edition, copy 78 of an edition of 350, signed by both Milne and Shepard. Publisher's blue boards with blue cloth spine, printed label on upper cover, in the printed dust jacket, housed in a felt-lined card slipcase with decorated paper. 8 3/4 x 7 inches (22 x 17.5 cm); xvi, 158, [2] pp., illustrated throughout by E. H. Shepard; folding map of the Hundred Acre Wood at end (the deluxe issue does not have the map endpapers of the trade edition). The spine of the jacket toned and a bit rubbed, with losses to the head and foot, and a small tear with minor loss to the foot of the front panel, the boards a trifle discolored from contact with the acid paper of the jacket but still most attractive, some toning to the endpapers as usual, generally a very clean copy internally, largely unopened.
