Description
New York, The Colophon, 1930-35. Illustrations in text. Parts 1-20 in twenty volumes, original pictorial boards, parts 1-16 housed in four pigskin slipcases, the final four parts loose. Part V retains the signed David Milne two-color drypoint Painting Place (this is titled Hilltop in the issue). Part XII retains the Gustave Bauman color woodblock print An Eagle Ceremony at Tesuque Pueblo. The first sixteen parts are in fine condition in the tissue jackets, and are in the pigskin boxes that were issued to subscribers. Parts XVII-XX are not housed in a box, and lack the jackets, and are toned and soiled. The boxes themselves are, as is usual, toned and worn; together with the four parts of The New Graphic Series; the twelve parts of The New Colophon; and the Index. Some wear to these. Please note that this set does not contain the volumes of The New Colophon.
The first series has become quite scarce complete with the two prints.
