SB1256, with Carl Zeiss Jena Protarlinse f/6.3 183mm lens, black, serial no. 38328, body, VG, shutter working, lens, VG-E, complete with additional changing magazine, cut film holders and letter of provenance from Newman & Guardia Ltd, dated 25th May 1956 Letter: "Dear Sir, We Acknowledge receipt of your letter of 24th xxxx. We have never manufactured a 3½x2?" B or Special B camera - The camera in question, SB1256 was made to take a plate size 3½x2?" - a 1/4 of a 1/2 plate. We made a few of them over the years, and stocked plates in this size for them - We did not make plate holders in this size but we made a few 24 cut film changing boxes as required - We never stocked changing boxes for plates or cut film. Special B camera 1256 was manufactured in 1900 - It is fitted with a 4'/8" lens named in these days the Zeiss xxx Anastigmat. The forerunner of the Dlube Protar lens.
