Description
Baptismal goblet offered by Empress Eugenie and Emperor Napoleon III, round, in vermeil, adorned with cartouches of foliage, one of which is engraved with the cipher of the imperial couple, crowned; it is presented in a wooden case covered with black morocco-style paper, monogrammed with gilded irons: "N E" surmounted by the imperial crown, interior in beige silk; it originally contained a spoon which has been replaced; height of the timpani 120 mm, weight 165 g.
Second Empire period. Good condition.
Silver hallmarks: Minerva; silversmith CALLOT Eusèbe, 11 rue du Perche and 30 rue Sainte-Croix de la Bretonnerie
