THE DISHES AND COVERS WITH MARK OF JOHN SAMUEL HUNT, LONDON, 1860; RETAILED BY HUNT AND ROSKELL, THE STANDS BY THOMAS AND JAMES CRESWICK

Details

Each plain circular with gadrooned borders and detachable reeded ring handle, engraved on cover with a crest and motto on one side and two crests on the other, and on body with crest within motto only, the plated two-handled hot water stand on four foliate feet with reeded side handles, marked underneath, on sides and handles, the dishes stamped underneath HUNT & ROSKELL, LATE STORR & MORTIMER 614
10 1/4 in. (26 cm.) diameter
100 oz. 13 dwt. (3,132 gr.)
The two crests on the covers are those of Wentworth and Fitzwilliam, as borne by the Earls Fitzwilliam.
The single crest within the collar of the Order of the Bath is probably that of Ross.
