River Thames.- Pine (John) Thamesis Descriptio Anno 1588, after Robert Adams (c.1530-1595), engraving, from a copy drawn by Mr. Joseph Ames, 8 April 1738, from the original in parchment, showing from Tilbury to Lambeth, within elaborate rococo frame border, on laid paper with watermark 'CW' in the upper right corner, platemark 410 x 675 mm (16 1/4 x 26 1/2 in), sheet 525 x 700 mm (20 3/4 x 27 1/2 in), central vertical fold as issued, small reapired teat to lower centre, well outside the platemark, otherwise minor surface dirt, unframed, 1740*** Scarce; sometimes included as part of Pine's 'The Tapestry Hangings of the House of Lords', 1739.
