Classic original 1960s Peter Max poster. This design was created in 1967 by the well-known pop artist Peter Max for the J.C.Penney Company. The poster image proudly declares it as a mixed media event featuring the fashions of the British Designer, Mary Quant. The image uses the neon colors and interesting typography that symbolized the artwork of the pop style of the late 1960’s. Please view images for condition. Peter Max is one of the best known pop artist to come out of the 1960s. Widely attributed as the artist for the Beatles Yellow Submarine art, he was approached by the Beatles as they were good friend but he instead referred them to a Czech-German artist Heinz Edelmann who referred to himself as the German Peter Max.
