Description
Lovely flattened Chawan in creamy white glaze with an apple painted to the inside and a stem, leaf, and inscription to the outside in the style of Korin or Kenzan, impressed round mark outside near base filled with glaze and a Japanese fabric storage bag. PROVENANCE: Purchased at PB84, a subsidiary of Sotheby Parke Bernet in the early 1980's. Momoyama or Early Edo Period. 2.5 inches high x 5 inches in diameter at mouth.
