An iconic portrait of a young Greek man standing by a leafy tree in the countryside smoking a chibouque, dressed in a fustanella with a finely embroidered gold jacket and waistcoat. He carries a pistol in his waistcoat; the dress identifies him as an Ioanninan inhabitant. Unframed. Plate approx. 15 1/2" x10 1/2"
