Terentianus, Maurus. DE LITERIS, SYLLABIS, PEDICUS, AC METRIS. Venice: Pasinu[m] & F. Bindonum socios., 1533. 5.5" x 3.75". [4], 103, [1] leaves. Bound in later full vellum with morocco title label lettered in gilt. ********** Several attractive woodcut initials. A rare edition of this work by Terentianus, a grammarian who came to popularity in the late 2nd century. The present treatise on letters, syllables, feet and metres would be used by later writers. His work on metres was especially important and was based upon the work of Caesius Bassus (Roman lyric from the time of Nero.)
Condition
Overall nice condition, some small chips to spine label and vellum mildly toned. Contents clean with only some occasional light foxing. Title with chip repaired in old paper (removing portion of imprint), section with light worming to upper corner occasional shaving some letters or page numbers, Very Good.
