2 Vintage Ladies Dresses includes a c1950 Red Printed Cotton Summer Dress, three quarter length, with a red colonial inspired print of birds, fruits and vines on a beige background. The fabric was made by The Springs Cotton Mills in Fort Mill, South Carolina. As well as thin shoulder straps, a pleated wide round neck bust, and side metal zip closure. Only the bust is lined in a fine white cotton. Possibly homemade due to its primitive construction. Laying flat the dress measures: bust 18'', waist 14'', length 47''. The dress is in good condition with only loose threads on the badly sewn bottom hem which could be easily resewn. Along with a c1950 Blue/Green Linen Dress, sz 10, designed by Jacques Fath for Joseph Halpert features a muted blue green linen body, gentle V neck, cap sleeves, 2 front pockets with angular details, and a metal zip back closure. It has a unique detachable white linen halter overlay with a plunging neckline and 3 mother of pearl closures attached a matching blue/green linen belt with a back facing kidskin leather backed square linen buckle. Both the pockets of the dress and the back of the belted halter overlay are backed/lined with dusty pink acetate. There is an internal label with a drapers I.D. number 5595, style number 789, size 10. Laying flat the dress measures: bust 16'', waist 12'', length 43''. Laying flat the halter belted overlay measures: 26'' long, belt 36'' long. The set is in good condition with several faint stains on the shoulders of the dress.
