Four Paper Mache Wall Sculptures of Buses/Trolleys. Signed L. Simonis. Each is colorfully decorated in folkloric Haitian style, depicting island transportation and figures engaged in various pursuits. The sizes vary, with the range being from the smallest at approximately 10" x 19" x 4 1/2" to the largest at 17 1/2" x 26" x 5". This item originates from the estate of John A. Williams, a distinguished philanthropist and renowned collector. Mr. Williams and his partner Dewitt Hart were influential members of San Francisco's art society and were celebrated for their discerning taste in modern, ethnographic, and fine art. Over the years, they hosted numerous exhibitions in their home, showcasing their prestigious collection to appreciative audiences. All proceeds of items from this estate benefit the Hart Williams Rainbow Fund, a nonprofit working with the LGBTQIA+ community in the San Francisco Bay Area.
