Vivian Maier (American, 1926-2009), "New York, NY, September 3, 1954", gelatin silver print, printed in 2014. Captures the rear view of a woman in cocktail attire with an elaborate hairstyle. Howard Greenberg Gallery label verso: From an edition of 15, numbered 6/15, includes the photographer's collection stamp, signed by John Maloof, detailing date, print date, and edition number in ink. Image size approximately 11 7/8" x 12", sight size appx 12 1/4" x 12 1/4", sheet size appx 20" x 16". Framed dimensions appx 24 5/8" x 20 5/8". This item originates from the estate of John A. Williams, a distinguished philanthropist and renowned collector. Mr. Williams and his partner Dewitt Hart were influential members of San Francisco's art society and were celebrated for their discerning taste in modern, ethnographic, and fine art. Over the years, they hosted numerous exhibitions in their home, showcasing their prestigious collection to appreciative audiences. All proceeds of items from this estate benefit the Hart Williams Rainbow Fund, a nonprofit working with the LGBTQIA+ community in the San Francisco Bay Area.
