ITALIAN GRASSO FAMILY TERRACOTTA FIGURES, LOT OF EIGHT, comprising seven Paolo Grasso (1876-1957) examples including a group of men pulling a boat to shore, a group depicting men playing cards and smoking, one example featuring a cactus merchant standing beside a table holding a cactus fruit, one depicting an older woman winding thread, one featuring a sitting man smoking a pipe with a basket of fish at his side and lacking a fishing pole, and one sitting nude baby, and two examples depicting Francis of Assisi including one with "ASSISI" inscribed to front of base and remaining with "GRASSO / GIARRE" to underside. Marks include most with incised "P. GRASSO" on base and one with "MADE / IN ITALY" to underside. First half 20th century. 9 1/2" HOA.

Condition
Six undamaged; one basket detached from unknown group and with loss of handle; fisherman having loss of thumb on right hand; large Assisi example broken and glued in multiple places. Manufacturing flaws including card players' table possibly reglued or as made.
