Description
Naples, Italy, circa 1800. Marquetry of various woods and embedded marble board. 87x129x62cm. Two full-length drawers on high stiletto legs decorated with borders that frame military trophies around the keyhole shield. The brass handles in the shape of a lion's head with a ring in the mouth. It stands out for its composition with only two drawers, which is repeated in examples from the Neapolitan area as well as the marquetry with trophies. According to oral information, from the collection of the Marquis of Palmerola. Similar specimens in the Correale museum in Sorrento. Reference bibliography: -AND.
