Robert Kemm Salisbury 1837 London 1895 . was an English romantic painter. Oil on canvas measures: 76 x 64 cm measures with frame: 100 x 90 cm. Like other artists from his country such as John Phillip Edwin Long or John Bagnold Burgess he traveled to Spain around 1861 and developed a large part of his career in Andalusia seeking inspiration in landscapes and scenes of manners such as The Baptism with the departure of the church of majas and bullfighters or the Galanteo in the fountain both preserved in the Museum of Romanticism. He captured on canvas delicious figures of bullfighters bandits beggars guitarists and different popular characters. Many of his works reflect the atmosphere of the city of Seville such as the one titled The Spanish fruit seller The Spanish fruit seller . in which a saleswoman is represented and in the background you can distinguish La Giralda bell tower of the Cathedral of Seville . .
