The first of these 3 miniature basket has red (faded to pink) and green colored splints. 3 ¼” in diameter, 3” to the top of the handle. Very tight, with a single-wrapped rim. Excellent condition with no splits, breaks, holes, etc. The handle is solid with no breaks or cracks. For years it has lived on my personal basket tree. The second is a miniature swing handle basket with a solid wooden bottom which elevates the bottom of the basket slight off the table. It is 2” in diameter (excluding the handle joints, with them the distance is 2 ½”), and with the handle straight up the basket is about 3 3/8” tall. Double wrapped rim with tacks all the way around; tiny wood knobs hold the handle in place. Excellent condition: solid with no cracks or breaks in the weavers on only some minor splitting in the rim where some of the little tacks were applied. The third miniature covered splint basket has a very delicate handle and incredibly thin weavers. It is 1 ½” in diameter and 2 ¾” high to the handle with the handle straight up. There is a red-painted circle on the lid (less faded on the underside), which I assume is simply decoration. Excellent condition with no breaks or missing splints. Very tight and firm, with only some very minor fraying of a couple of the wraps in a coupel of places. I do not know the age or origin of this little basket, but it, too has been handling on my basket tree for years.
