Description
A lot of four antique Japanese, late Meiji Era, enamel over copper sets of cups and saucers. Circa: late 19th century to early 20th century. The wares are enameled with polychrome designs of butterflies and blossoming flowers surrounded by floral, swirl, and foliate scroll patterns made in the Cloisonne technique. The ground is inlaid with Goldstones. The borders are adorned with foliate scroll, and geometrical ornaments made in the same technique. The backsides are decorated with a foliate scroll ornament on the yellow ground made in the Cloisonne technique. Unmarked.
