French Provincial Carved Walnut Tallcase Clock, 19th c., the arched crown over a repousse brass face around an enamel dial, with a painted name of a retailer "Larue," "a Angouleme," over a glazed pendulum door, on a stepped plinth base, H.- 99 in., W.- 24 in., D.- 10 1/4 in.
Condition
Structurally sound. Retains an older warm mellow finish. Scattered shrinkages, some with separations mostly where joined. A few scattered losses. Both bottom and top door hinge area with repairs. Scattered inactive worming. Pendulum and weights present. Overall minor chips, nicks, marks, abrasions, indentations, and imperfections, consistent with age and use. A handsome example.
