Carved Giltwood Blackamoor Torchere, 20th c., with a figure upholding a nine-light candelabra, on a lobed support, to a stepped square base, electrified, H.- 87 in., W.- 16 in., D.- 16 in. Provenance: The Estate of Jay Calamia, property from the Dufour-Plassan House, New Orleans, Louisiana.
Condition
Structurally sound. Worn finish with areas of repair. Running shrinkage around the base with touch up. Shrinkages through body with separation. Plaster chipping, and scattered losses. Overall wear and abrasions from age and use. Electrical would benefit from new cord and inline switch. Attractive piece. Unique offering.
