Gilt bronze, over size 3. Ridge band, 3.8 mm width with the usual Roman thickened bottom. The shoulders with raised lugs identified as Guiraud type 3, sub d. See Ancient Rings, Pollio, p.62. The bezel of ribbed cylindrical form superficially imitating a gemstone and blatantly advertising the intentions of the wearer. Roman prostitutes were typically adolescents, largely slaves.
