A highly desirable version of a desk eagle; a handsome metal cast German national modeled after the bronze Nuremberg eagles positioned to each side of the main podium at the Nuremberg rally grounds, 6.5 in. high, with two hidden screw holes for mounting to a base. Bears appropriate ‘RZM’ makers mark on the verso within a swastika, as well as ‘M 3/28’ and encircled initials ‘HB’ beneath. The majority of the original gilt is present, very good condition. Nuremberg desk eagles were often given as prizes for competitions held at the Nuremberg rallies, and also as presentations to members of the political elite.
