Description
Rare German interbellum poster, 23.5 x 35.5 in., titled ‘Men and Women: Vote for Peace and Order; Peace and Freedom; Work and Bread’, and urges the reader of vote for the Deutsche Volkspartei. Oak leaves appear at the middle, showing an early adoption of the symbol which would become closely associated with the Third Reich. The Deutsche Volkspartie (or DVP) was a conservative-liberal party, formed in 1918 as an answer to the excesses of the Weimar Republic. It turned more to the right in the 1920s, but eventually fell out of favor in lieu of more conservative groups by 1932. Folds with a pinhole or two thereon, otherwise in very good condition.
