A most desirable variant of the Close Combat Clasp in Silver, 4 in. long, displaying a national eagle above a crossed bayonet and grenade, flanked by four oak leaves and two acorns on either side upon a ribbed, pointing base, of die-struck zinc construction. The recessed central square lacks the original blue steel backing plate, as well as the pin and catch. The reverse is marked with the maker's name in relief: 'Fec. W. E. Peekhaus Berlin', further marked on the opposite side ‘AUSF. A.G.M.u.K GABLONZ’. Very good.
