Description
JOSEF 'SEPP' DIETRICH (1892 - 1966) German SS general, one of Nazi Germany's most decorated soldiers. Prior to 1929 he was Hitler's chauffeur and bodyguard but received rapid promotion after his participation in the Night of the Long Knives. Commanded 6th Panzer Army in the Battle of the Bulge. Sentenced to 25 years imprisonment for the execution of American P.O.W.s during the offensive. Handsome partly-printed D.S. 1p. folio, Berlin, Oct. 1, 1937, an award certificate honoring the service of SS-Unscharfuhrer Hans Templin for his service in the LSAH. Signed by Dietrich at bottom, fine condition.
