A Meissen-like, large ceramic figural compote (or vase) with applied putti standing atop a sea urchin upheld by 3 dogfish on a crenulated sea shell base, circa 1890, size: 15 in. H x 9 in W at base, glazed in shades of purple and white with gold highlights, bottom marked with purple glaze "6002" and possible small maker's mark, impressed marks under the glaze hard to read but appear to be "2316", "AW" and "44". Missing top basket if compote, previous owner used it as a vase, restoration to one fish tail, small chip to another. Rare, finely made piece.
