South Bend Watch Co., South Bend, Indiana, an early 20th century grade 295 pocket watch, 16 size, 21 jewels, stem wind and lever set, adjusted to 5 positions, temperature and isochronism, damascened nickel plate movement with lever escapement, cut bimetallic balance with gold screws, gold jewel settings, gold wheel train, and micrometric regulator in a 14 karat, yellow gold, plain polished open face case with makers details on gold cuvette, Montgomery arabic numeral, double sunk white enamel dial with blued steel spade and poker hands, serial #470258, 88.2g TW
Condition
CASE: Dents; Dings; Fine scratches on outer surface of case; Fine scratches on inner surface of case; Case knife scratches on cuvette; Bow with minor wear; Stem bent; Crown shell worn through; Precious metal content marked. DIAL: Very good. HANDS: Very good. MOVEMENT PLATES: Very fine scratches on plate; More significant scratches and marks on balance cock, at bridge screws and near center arbor; Ratchet wheel with very fine scratches; Click with patch of oxide; Regulator assembly with specks of oxide. MOVEMENT FUNCTION: Running order (winds, sets and ticks); Low amplitude, needs service, circa 1905
