Henry Appleton, London, a mid 19th century pocket chronometer movement mounted for deck use, 15 jewel, key wound and set, gilt half plate fusee movement with freesprung cut bimetallic balance and helical spring, diamond endstone, and Earnshaw's escapement, mounted in a gimballed, weighted brass bowl, the signed arabic numeral silvered dial with subsidiary seconds and blued steel hands, all contained in a hardwood box, serial #5537

box with significant scratches and losses to finish; dial with a few very minor scratches, glass with scratches, gimbal, bowl and hardware with minor discoloration and tarnish; running, ACCESSORIES: Winding Key, circa 1850
