Shepherd, Waltham, Mass., bench made grandmother clock done as an approximately a two thirds scale copy of a mid eighteenth century Thomas Claggett of Newport, Rhode Island tall clock, in a well made solid cherry case with scalloped trunk door, bracket feet, reeded hood columns, scroll top and turned flame finials, 7.5in x 10in brass dial with cast brass spandrels, engraved silvered chapter ring with roman and arabic numerals, silvered boss with figural image in arch, silvered date aperture and blued steel hands, well made weight driven movement of eight day duration striking on a bell, brass clad pendulum bob, detailed schematic plans included
