E. Howard & Co., Boston, Mass., hanging "No. 6 Regulator" clock, the largest of Howard's figure eight wall clocks, black walnut case with a roman numeral painted metal dial with subsidiary seconds, blued steel diamond hands, reverse painted tablets and damascened pendulum bob, signed eight day, time only, weight driven movement with maintaining power and meter pendulum with 8in bob
Condition
black walnut case is marked "10", has been nicely refinished to a lighter shade with separation repairs on lower portion of front door and case sides due to falling weight puncture. As a result, lower glass is wavy and has age but is a possible restoration, top crest and lower carved piece with small damage on front edge of profiling, original red painted baffle with splits and repairs and marked "10", minor surface abrasion on right side of case and a few scratches and dents on left side of door, original painted dial is in very good condition with no evidence of restoration and has obtained a slight yellow hue with age, original gold leaf pendulum rod, decorated bob, tie-down, baffle, weight and pulley, ACCESSORIES: Pendulum, Cast Iron Weight, Door Key, circa 1900
