She received a B.A. degree from Bethany College, Lindsborg where she was a pupil of Birger Sandzen and her father, GN Malm.She did graduate work at the University of Kansas, Lawrence on a science scholarship and taught for many years in schools in and around Lindsborg.Some of Alba?s work is signed ?Dahlquist? because she was married to ? She divorced Dahlquist and later in life married Almquist.
