Meissen Porcelain Blue and White Hand-Painted Plate, Late 19th Century. H 10cm, W 20.5cm, D 20.5cm. Collection of Actress Irena Habrowska-Jellaczyc's Estate. Irena was a graduate of the State Theatrical Academy in Lodz. She studied under the great directors and professors Aleksander Zelwerowicz and Leon Schiller. Actress of the prestigious post-war Theatre of the Polish Armed Forces in Lodz. In Canada, she participated in some important theatrical and literary events, including initiatives of the Adam Mickiewicz Committee. In 1972, she established the Polish Theatre in Canada, which successfully participated in the Festival of Ethnic Theatres initiated by the Government of Ontario. Her important works included Pan Damazy, The Wedding, The Jeweller's Shop, etc.
