Each vase of tapering shaped oval form, the sides with pendant ribbon-tied floral wreaths and swags below panels of gilt trellis against a blue ground, spaced by pilasters of blue flowers on a pink ground headed by shells, the stand pierced on four sides with openings framed by C-scrolls, the sides conformingly decorated with puce rosettes and gilt trellis on blue ground
7 1/2 in. (19 cm.) high, overall

This vase shape was introduced in three sizes in 1754, with the name of the form evolving from 'à la hollandoise' to 'hollandois' by 1756.
