World War Two sterling silver napkin ring engraved HQ 302ND SIGNAL OPERATIONS BN. Originally known as the 302nd Signal Battalion, it was redesignated the 302nd Signal Operation Battalion on 12/8/1942 and was deactivated 6/1/1946. Between D-Day and VE day the battalion supported the Third Army and General Patton's dash across France, Belgium, Luxembourg, and Germany through 5 campaigns, receiving battle stars for Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, and Central Europe. They were the first U.S. Army unit to occupy Heidelberg, Germany. The napkin ring is 1.375" in diameter, is stamped sterling and weighs 35 grams. In-house shipping is available.
