With verdure clad, the simple rectory In chaste and unobtrusive modesty, As best befits the teacher of the truth, Arises meekly-there, unconscious youth Within the precincts of its gardens stray, In studious converse some, and some at play; The guiding spirit of the scene the while, Looks kindly forth, and greets them with a smile..’ Blind stamped to the front ‘T. R. W. Photographer’ Condition: card finger marks minor foxing , images good little faded. Note: These 1850's views are of the village of Hinton Waldrist in Oxfordshire and are considered to be Williams's masterpiece. They were the subject of the book 'A Village Lost and Found', by Brian May & Elena Vidal, published 2009.
