Oil on panel, bears typed note, “This is my grandfather, Joseph Claypoole Clark, of Mt. Holly, N.J., painted when he was 21 years old by his friend, John Nagle (sic), on of the early American painters, Son of Jacob and Ann Clark,” and also bears printed loan label, "The Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, Exhibition of Portraits by John Neagle, April 12 - May 13, 1925," framed.
