Description
The Holy Grail of potato chip cans. Mrs. Japp's was one of the most famous potato chip brands in Chicago and the suburbs. At the outbreak of WW II when the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor, the Japp family was forced to change the name of their brand to Jay's Potato Chips. Most of the Mrs. Japp's tins were scrapped for the war effort making them one of the hardest tins to find. This lot contains both a Mrs. Japp's tin and a Jay's tin. Both are in good condition but the Mrs. Japp's tin has a rusty lid. Each one is a 1 pound tin and measures 11" tall, 7.5" in diameter.
