Details:

Benjamin Disraeli autographed handwritten letter (ALS) dated January 27, 1856 sent to Lord Palmerston. The 3-page letter (ALS) is penned on the front and interior spread of a single folded sheet. In the letter Disraeli requests a copy of a House of Commons speech unavailable to him - the only copy sent to Lord Aberdeen and then to Lord Derby.

On the verso Palmerston pens "sent him a copy."

Overall fine condition.

Benjamin Disraeli, 1st Earl of Beaconsfield, KG, PC, DL, JP, FRS[1] (21 December 1804 – 19 April 1881) was a British statesman, Conservative politician and writer who twice served as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. He played a central role in the creation of the modern Conservative Party, defining its policies and its broad outreach. Disraeli is remembered for his influential voice in world affairs, his political battles with the Liberal Party leader William Ewart Gladstone, and his one-nation conservatism or "Tory democracy". He made the Conservatives the party most identified with the British Empire and military action to expand it, both of which were popular among British voters. He is the only British Prime Minister to have been born Jewish.

Henry John Temple, 3rd Viscount Palmerston, KG, GCB, PC, FRS (20 October 1784 – 18 October 1865), known as Lord Palmerston, was a British statesman and politician who was twice Prime Minister of the United Kingdom in the mid-19th century. Palmerston dominated British foreign policy during the period 1830 to 1865, when Britain stood at the height of its imperial power. He held office almost continuously from 1807 until his death in 1865. He began his parliamentary career as a Tory, defected to the Whigs in 1830, and became the first prime minister from the newly formed Liberal Party in 1859. He was highly popular with the British public. David Brown argues that "an important part of Palmerston's appeal lay in his dynamism and vigour".
