Harry Prieste autographed 1996 8 x 10" Olympic souvenir postal sheet. Additionally signed by Kent Ferguson.
Very good condition. Accompanied by original glossy 4 x 6" photograph taken at the time of signing.
Hal Haig "Harry" Prieste (November 23, 1896 – April 19, 2001) was an American athlete who participated in the 1920 Summer Olympics in Antwerp as a diver.
Prieste won a bronze medal in platform diving at the 1920 Olympics in Antwerp, Belgium. At those games he stole one of the original Olympic flags. He returned it to the IOC during a ceremony at the 2000 Olympics in Sydney, Australia. He also did some acting appearing as one of Mack Sennet’s Keystone Cops.
