crossed swords mark in under glaze blue, h. cm. 23.5 circa.
Taken from the Continents series executed by Friedrich Elias Meyer in 1749, a group similar to ours was exhibited in Turin in 2016 at the Accorsi-Ometto Museum of Decorative Arts, in the exhibition “Spiritelli, amorini, genietti e cherubini. Allegories and decoration of cherubs from Baroque to Neoclassical” (pp. 130-131 of the relevant catalogue).
