Marie Alexandre Lucien Coudray (French, 1864 - 1932) Bronze Orpheus Medal c.1893. Orpheus puts Cerberus to sleep with the sounds of his lyre. Coudray devoted most of his time to medal engraving and as such is regarded as one of the most important artists of the French medallic revival of the late nineteenth century. Approx. 2.75 across x 0.25 deep inches, 5.5 oz.
