Absolutely MONUMENTAL Antique French Louis XVII-Style Gilt Foyer Mirror
MEDIUM: Gilt and Gesso Molded Carved Wood Frame
DIMENSIONS: W. 56 inches x H. ~9’ 4” feet
CIRCA: Late 19C.
ATTRIBUTION: French, Purchased at the noted New Orleans Mannheim Gallery
DESCRIPTION: The subject item is an exceptionally large and intricately carved Louis XVI style hall mirror set into an elaborately composed foliate & swag detailed frame crowned with an asymmetrical art nouveau crown.
CONDITION: The mirror glass has been replaced. This mirror is screwed into position on the wall in several places on each side. Screws have been covered with wood filler and painted to match the gilt finish. Some damage may occur from removal as the screws will need to be accessed to get it off the wall. Professional movers only for this item to both remove and crate and either ship or pick up.
