"This is Music 3" by William R.Sur, William Fisher, Adeline McCall, and Mary Tolbert, illustrated by Dagmar Wilson, published by Allyn and Bacon, Boston, 1968.
Special teacher edition with strengthen hard boards and reinforced binding, illustrated cloth [Amy is written on front cover] 7.1/2” x 9.1/4”; [name and marks on the front endpaper and inside front cover: see photos]; 168 pages including indexes, a few pencil markings, very good condition.
Sheet music, mainly old folk songs for children, to learn to sing and play, instrument information how to play, all decorated with beautiful pictures.
Dagmar Searchinger Wilson (1916-2011) was an American anti-nuclear testing activist, artist, and illustrator of children's books. She graduated in 1937 from the Slade School of Fine Art in London. Soon after she married Christopher Wilson and moved to Washington, where he was a British Embassy officer. She was raising three girls and managing a busy career illustrating children’s books. She eventually had 50 titles to her credit, including the classic "Poems to Read to the Very Young," published in 1961. In the 1970s, Wilson withdrew to a quieter life as a landscape painter in Loudoun County, Va., where she was involved in local environmental and peace groups.
