Description
Ancient Eastern Europe, Balkan region, Danube Celtic Tribes, ca. 1500 to 1000 BCE. A bronze sickle blade of curved form with superb hammering and lovely fuller grooves as decoration. The crescent-shaped tool features a curved blade edge that would have been capable of fulfilling both utilitarian and battlefield purposes if necessary. The knobbed end is intact and was affixed to a wooden or perhaps bone handle at one time. Size: 8.25" L (21 cm)
