Southeast Asia, Thailand, Rattanakosin Kingdom, ca. 19th to early 20th century CE. A splendid and quite sizable wooden Buddhist votive panel with 30 inlaid terracotta reliefs of Buddha. The tall wood tablet is adorned with relief decoration of scrolling, geometric, and lotus flower motifs surrounding 31 petite recesses in which the pottery reliefs are placed. Each plaque displays an image of seated Buddha framed by a mandorla. Size: 1.2" L x 10.3" W x 41.7" H (3 cm x 26.2 cm x 105.9 cm)
