DESCRIPTION: Antique bronze effigy depicting Durga / Shakti standing on her tiger as she slays the buffalo-hybrid demon, Mahishasura springing forth from the beheaded buffalo. Goddess bears several weapons and attributes in her many hands including a vajra bell, a bow, and a chakra. Mounted on a wooden base marked on underside with inventory number.
CIRCA: 15th to 16th Century
ORIGIN: India
DIMENSIONS: Sculpture - H: 8.5" W: 3.25" L: 6.5"
Base - H: 1.5" W: 6.25" L: 6.25"
CONDITION: Attributes in goddess's two main hands appear to be missing; minor wear and tarnishing consistent with age and use
