Circa: late 19th century. Mounted on a naturalistic rectangular base. Signed on the base in Cyrillic, E. Lanceray, with Cyrillic foundry mark F. Chopin, and with a finance ministry stamp. Yevgeny Yevgenyevich Lanceray, also often spelled Eugene Lansere, was a Russian graphic artist, painter, sculptor, mosaicist, and illustrator, associated stylistically with Mir Iskusstva, World of Art.
